ISRO PSLV C-40
Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) makes history again .On 12 January 2018 at 09:29 Hrs (IST) from SDSC SHAR, Sriharikota ,ISRO successfully launched PSLV C-40 space vehicle with 31 satellite on board.It successfully installed each on it in their respective orbits.According to a Press release by the Press Trust of India .All 31 satellite were either a micro satellite or a nano satellite .The vehicle carried 28 among these satellites which were launched as a part of a commercial arrangement between Antrix Corporation Limited and the countries of Canada, Finland, France, Republic of Korea, UK and USA. Antrix is a Government of India company under Department of Space (DOS) which manages commercial clients for ISRO.
The Vehicle was fitted with on board cameras that send command center same unique videos of separation of different stages modules and satellites.
Cartosat-2 Series Satellite
Cartosat-2 Series Satellite is the primary satellite carried by PSLV-C40. This remote sensing satellite is similar in configuration to earlier satellites in the series and is intended to augment data services to the users.
The imagery sent by satellite will be useful for cartographic applications, urban and rural applications, coastal land use and regulation, utility management like road network monitoring, water distribution, creation of land use maps, change detection to bring out geographical and man-made features and various other Land Information System (LIS) as well as Geographical Information System (GIS) applications. Further, on 16 January 2018 ISRO released the first image by Crastosat satellite of Indore`s Holkar Cricket stadium.
